Scala's Bistro
Since opening in 1995, Scala's Bistro has celebrated seasonal ingredients created in an uncomplicated and inspired style. Our kitchen produces an earthy and satisfying offering that allows diners to bask in the culinary delights of the Italian and French countryside. Located just a block from Union Square, Scala's Bistro is adjacent to the historic Sir Francis Drake Hotel. High ceilings with original elaborate design, richly colored floor tiles, a setting inspired by Monet's kitchen,and Scala's Old World atmosphere create a comfortable yet elegant ambiance. An eclectic mix of original murals, rich tobacco tones, gilt mirrors, white linen tablecloths and a semi-open kitchen produces the look and feel of a classic Parisian bistro.
Harry Denton's
1930's glamor with a certain modern swing...cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served in a glamorous setting...a place to see and be seen. It's Harry Denton's Starlight Room atop the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. Located on the 21st floor of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, the 360-degree view from the Harry Denton's Starlight Room is as breathtaking as any in the world, encompassing brilliant sunsets or rolling fog, city lights, and landmarks from Telegraph Hill to the Bay Bridge. And inside, the view is every bit as stunning. Ruby reds and golds, nine imported chandeliers, a bevy of beveled mirrors, deep velvet booths and hundreds of yards of luscious ruby red, gold, and teal Scalamandre damask as well as crimson hand-rubbed silk drapery give the completely new room an air of elegance you might find at Maxim's in Paris or an opera house in Vienna. Which is just what designer Arthur Valdez had in mind when he and Harry pulled out all the stops, from the Axminster carpet from London to the art nouveau handle on the ladies' room door. In Harry's trademark style, even the ladies' powder room is straight out of a stylish 1930s movie.
